My mother is thinking about buying the 4 camera system for her home, but would like for me to receive the smart phone messages to my Apple IOS. Would she just add me to her own account as a secondary? Since this is a separate house, obviously she should qualify for the Free Basic Plan up to five cameras also? She is 81 years old, and would like to feel secure by keeping me informed. Thanks

Not a secondary account but added as a Friend. That friend can have administrative capabilities or just viewing. You could also set yourself up as the main account and add her as a friend - your choice.

If I set myself up as the main administrator with my same iphone receiving the alerts, I would think that Netgear would assume that I have added more than my 5 camera limit, thus I would be forced to purchase a monthly plan. I may try the opposite as you suggested since she has her own iphone, and I can set myself up as one of her friends with administrator capabilities also. This I would think would be ok to do with Netgear. I have already shown this system to my NASA friends I work with, and one has just purchased the four camera system themselves, and loves it. My system has been working great, going on 5 months now.

It has nothing to do with the device used for monitoring but the email address/account. Hence, you can log in using the same app but with different credentials and monitor/administer multiple systems.
