Hi Purpleiris,
Currently, Arlo is available in the US and some countries in Europe and Australia. However, Arlo can be brought and used worldwide. It is just that you will not be able to upgrade your Arlo system to a paid service level (Premier or Elite), just the basic plan in Canada.
To know more about the paid service, please see link below:

Thanks
Wow, 1GB is really not much space for a 24 hour camera system>
Any word on when the full service will be available in Canada to increase service and suppoirt for the products on the website for Canada?
So far there are no retailors suppling your prodiucts and we need to be able to purchase these through a canadian website at our pricing at current curency exchange rates.
Your system looks good and portable, I need this system to be reilable for a nieghbour harassment situation.

You have to remember, this system is not meant to stream or record 24/7, only on movement.

It's NOT a 24/7 type of record system....
1) it MOTION based which means it will record from 10 sec to 120 secs ( adjustable by user ) when it detects motion
2) 10 seconds of video is about 1 mb, so your looking at about 1000 - 10 second clips... you'll prob never fill the 1gb with normal use.
3) with the basic plan, after 1 week the older vids will be removed to the recycle bin automaticly ( where they stay another week+ and don't count toward your total ) OR you can set it so when usage is max'ed it stops recording OR replaces oldest first
4) you can d/l to local any vids you want to save.

Hello Purpleiris,
RobertRosal and TomMac are right. Arlo cameras spend most of their time in power-saving stand-by mode. See article below:
Do Arlo cameras record 24/7?
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Knowledge-Base/Do-Arlo-cameras-record-24-7/ta-p/301
There is no ETA yet when it will be launched in Canada. On the Worldwide pricing below, you will see the pricing for Canada.
* At launch, some regions may only have the basic plans available. Premier and Elite plans will be activated soon after the launch. Once activated, users will be able to upgrade from the free basic plan to a Premier or Elite plan.
