After updating my vmb3010 base station to the latest update, it will not power down when I press the power button on the back of the base station. It worked before the update, but not now after 1.16.6.3-1109-e9ee661. Previously, pressing the button would Power Up, then if pressed again, it would power down. However, now it wants to remain up permanently. If I press the button now, it will power down, but then within a few minutes it will automatically power up again by itself. It will not remain in the power off state. This is terribly annoying.

Kinda sounds like the button is sticking. You can try "exercising" the button to see if it helps but may need to just unplug it.

No, that didn't resolve the problem. I found that the switch does work properly. When the switch is activated to the "off" position, the base station does power down. All the indicator lights disappear. So the switch is ok and doing its job. The indicator lights remain off for a few minutes and then the base starts the power "on" sequence with the indicators lights coming back on.
I've had no issues until that particular update. I have also noticed there had been some previous complaints about the base shutting down by itself. So I suspect this particular update tried to resolve that by always doing a powerup sequence when it found it self in a powerdown mode. I believe the software in the base did not test to see if the powerdown was actually requested by the switch or not. If the powerdown was requested by the switch then it should remain powered down, otherwise in all other cases it should do an automatic powerup. It's probably a logic error in the code for the vbm3010.
