how can i stop receiving emais about arlo alerts? and how can i use my dell laptop to monitor my cameras?

you can turn email alerts by going into the mode that you are using/edit/ and in push notification unckeck email alert.

on pc log into your account at arlo.netgear,com to monitor your cams.  but keep in mind that constant monitoring of the arlo will eat up your batteries quickly.  With this in mind, a monitoring session times out after 30 min.

Thanks for your response Manfredz Also if i turn off my L.E.D light will that affect the audio and/or the video function? Also since i have now turned off my email alerts i have no idea what push notification is. and can i save video to an external hard drive instead of the cloud??

Which LED light?  The IR illuminators for night vision?  That has no effect on audio but may be an issue for video at night - it just depends on how much light is available in the area covered by the camera.

Push notifications are those that pop up in your mobile device, like new mail.

You can manually download your videos from the cloud after the fact. The Pro base station and Q Plus camera also have local recording capability but you have to physically remove the storage to then view on a computer.  You can't access it directly.
