late E-mail alerts

The e-mail alerts have stopped working. When a motion is detected the e-mail alert will only sound if I àctually open the e-mail account later. The alarm is suppose to sound as soon as the camera detects motion. If there is no alarm how am I suppose to know that there is a problem?

Push up on Android can use a custom sounds but it needs to be enabled. Check Settings, Notifications. Emails are a function of your device and email client. Power savings for the device may be slowing down receipt.
