how far from my house can i install a camera?

Nominally, 300 feet. In reality, given obstructions and various interferences, less than that. Your specific usage would need to be tested via trial and error.

thru the home, I find about 50-75 feet just like normal wifi range.... straight line of sight ( no blockage ) I've use up to about 150ft.

 

You can always add a second base ( for no additional charge now ) at the far end of location to extend your range if needed. ( by ethernet cable or extender with an ethernet port )
