cr 123 sudden battery failure

Strange but I had a camera go offline, brought it in and found that two of the four batteries were down to less tha one volt. The other two were 2.95 volts. They were all from the same package of batteries installed about a moth ago. Seems they should all be discharged more equally. Defective batteries?

Not sure how it is where you are but here, good CR123A batteries are $13 each. I recently went to rechargeables and have to say they're brilliant. Consider getting the Tenergy ones from the Arlo site
