camera works adjacent to the base but nowhere else

My device , 1 of 5, works adjacent to the base but not at a position at which another camera of the same type works. Nor at another position 1/2 the distance to the base. Weak transmitter??

This could be due to low or depleted batteries. Do you see the same behavior with a fresh set of batteries installed?
