The camera pro 3 does not record or notify cars or motion. it did that in the beginning but battery use to drain quickly as we live on a busy street, we contact customer service they said its fixed but it was not. still doing same thing. Now the second pro 3 camera all of a sudden does not want to connect. i gave up on the cars notification issue but now this. please do not fall for these tech startup companies. Once IPO is out they dont care as investors are out with the profits and now its upto retail investors to deal with this mess. total **bleep** show. Biggest mistake ever buying this crap device

Lots of motion triggering will of course drain the battery quickly, as the camera is streams the video to the Arlo Cloud every time motion is detected.  The Cloud then determines if the motion is in/out of any activity zones, and classifies the recording.  So activity zones and smart notifications do not help with battery drain.

The only ways to fix that are to

  • adjust the camera position so it is not triggering as often.
  • reduce the motion sensitivity so it is not triggering as often.

Not sure if that helps, since I'm not clear on whether your current complaint is about battery drain or not.

You might try

  • removing the camera from the account
  • opening the camera and pressing the sync button inside until the LED flashes amber (~15 sec)
  • adding the camera back to the account.
