Thrigerring on motion is not consistent and works only at no more than 15'.  It is currently about 40' from the base and it is outdoor. Day and night the same behavior.

15 feet may be all you'll get depending on how the camera is positioned and how motion moves. Post a screenshot so we can see what's up.

Describe what you're trying to capture. I'm not sure what I'm looking at.

I am trying to find a way to get notifications if there is movement approaching the length of the wall you see on the right. Crossing FOV at distance more than 20 ft usually does not trigger the camera, but sometimes does.  Crossing FOV closer than 20 ft usually triggers the camera and sometimes does not.

I suspect it's just the distance involved. Any chance you can reposition the camera closer to where you expect motion? Also, the Pro cameras may work better in this situation.

the intent was to see the entire side.  I was just wondering if my camera performs as designed or is defective in the motion detection area.  I thought it would trigger further than 20 ft.

Thanks for your help.

You might find the Arlo Pro camera more sensitive but I don't think the Arlo would detect how you want it to in this scenario

Steve,

is it because the line of importance to me is right at the edge of FOV?  So you know, it does not trigger in the middle of FOV consistently either.

I think you're saying that the right side is what's important?  Motion may be more towards the camera than across or at least a significant vector of the motion.  As for motion in the middle being an issue, it's been noted that the original wireless cameras work better detecting motion starting near/at an edge.  The Pro just generally works better at detection.
