I just bought my arlo last week from costco and last night it was reading 98% battery.  this afternoon its now reading 79% battery.  I tried resetting the base station to get a new battery reading but it still comes up as 79% and I cant figure out if this is normal, a glitch or is my camera defective?   my other camera went from 97% to 92% overnight too but that seems a bit less extreme.  thanks for the help in advance

Just saw a large drop on one of my cams too...

wondering if it was due to the new ios app update...haven't check my phone/ PC yet

assume you didn't have large number of recordings.

are you using rechargeable batteries?

any chance you had an internet interruption which used a lot of juice with cams tring to contact base station?

no not that many recordings.  the gardners came yesterday so I had about 15 recordings but they went through the side door, only two front door recordings which is the main camera that dropped a lot of battery capacity

I am using the batteries that came with the arlo since I only bought it a week ago.  they are the disposable cr123s that come with the starter pack.  they are not rechargeables (if they were rechargeble it wouldnt be a big deal to lose battery capacity since I could just recharge them)

no internet outages either unless it happened while i was sleeping and I didnt notice it

Then I can suggest just keeping an eye on the usage.

May I suggest getting the recommended Tenergy 3.7 (gold colored) rechargeables and charger when your batteries run out (easily ordered from amazon.com and amazom.ca in USA and Canada but somewhat hard to get in most other countries.

Thanks I will keep an eye on the battery usage, ive been checking it every day since I just got it a week ago

I ordered some rechargeble 1200mah 16340s from banggood and I have a charger already.  they work well with my flashlights like the olight s1r so ill see how they work with the arlo.  thanks for the recommendation though.

OK... last check, new IOS app showed one camera battery RED and empty...( tested 4x with same result )

PC shows the battery full ( 91% ) today

Android shows the same at 91%

Second check this morning IOS shows 90% ...something was going on, just not sure what as issue has seemed to resolve itself.

Hate to tell you ...there is no such thing as a 1200mahr 16340 cell

That cell in itself is suspect

You CAN NOT phyically fit enough chems in that size form to produce any more than about 700-750 mahr in the rechargeable li-ions

As a PS... there was an edit to the sw re reading of cell voltage

you wont find an RCR123A battery having 1200mAh.

Unless not available in your country for not much more you could get the approved Tenergy ot also known good Nitecore batteries
