Can I setup my Arlo system to connect to the Arlo cloud server via a dedicated Netgear Unit Pro Model # 781S that would be connected to the Arlo base station via Netgear wireless to ethernet bridge on the AT&T 4G LTE network with a minimum 4 megs download and a minimum of 3 megs upload.

Has anyone done this?

Right now we have the system working on a DSL based system with the base station connected to the router via ethernet cable.

We live fullime in our motorcoach so this would be ideal for our situation.

Thanx

Larry

If you're asking if your base station will wirelessly connect to your other Netgear device, the answer is no.

The Arlo base station requires an Ethernet port to plug into.

It is possible, however, to use Wi-Fi bridges as long as they have an Ethernet port. Others have done this successfully and reported here in the forums.

So, the connection would go from the Arlo base station to a Wi-Fi bridge/access point via Ethernet cable and from there (wirelessly) to your home router.

I know about the connection to the wireless hotspot and Arlo base station with a bridge( I have a Netgear N600 ethernet to wifi bridge on order) I'm asking about which cellular carrier is being used, like at&t or verizon. And did anyone have to do any tweaking to their wireless cellular hotspot (opening ports, port forwarding  ,adding ports to the dmz ,talk to the carrier tech support) things like that.

I looked thru the form data base and did'nt see anything, but i might of missed them. Can anyone steer me in the right direction.

This is my first time asking a question an any kind of community form, so i'm still learning how to ask the question and be a little more clear as to what i'm asking.

Thanx for the help.

One might expect that the hotspot is configured like a router - all ports open, etc. I doubt any carrier has a security setup configured since that would just set them up for service issues.

Are you having problems or just investigating whether it will work?  Use of a hotspot hasn't been reported here much but no one seems to have an issue with using it. I don't know that any of the hotspots use Bluetooth but that would seem to be the only potential problem.
