After updating to the new Arlo app, there's only 3 modes to choose from!  I need more than 3 modes to control which specific camera to activate at different time.  This is frustrating, and deal breaker for me to.  I'm planning to retire all my Arlo cameras and adapt other alternative brands.

The current apps support 2 different user interfaces - the old one that uses Library to view recordings as well as the new one (which users are slowly being migrated to) which uses Feed. With the old interface you can add a custom mode. However, with the new one that's not possible - you have to use the 3 default modes, including Standby, to do what you need. That's limiting but you can use the modes regardless of their names.

You can add modes. Go to the Mode tab of the app, select your device and there is a big green button under the current modes that says “Add a Mode”.

FWIW, I’m using Library. App v. 5.3.3.

As I said above, the current apps support both the old and new interfaces. The app version doesn't matter unless you haven't updated it in a couple of years.

There is no "Add a mode" on the new app.  There is also no option to switch to the old vs. new interface.  I was forced to update to the new app tonight.  All my customization that I had set up using multiple modes that I had created was lost.  I also received an email from Arlo stating that I would be forced to a new plan in February (2025), and that plan will be significantly more expensive unless I pay annually.  As far as device modes and mode control, the new app is inferior to the old app.  To retain customers, Arlo should give the option of restoring the old app with the old interface until such time as the new app catches up to the old app in terms of mode functionality.

This response to another's comment didn't post as expected.  And there is no option for me to delete it.

I just updated as well and I am very disappointed as I also need more than 3 modes….Hey Arlo….please update to allow adding additional modes!

I am absolutely shocked that Arlo has crippled the app and system like this. Arlo is useless for me without custom modes. What are they thinking? Who decided on this???

It is finally time to put arlo in the trash and get something else. I've been wanting to dump this garbage and get something else but didn't want to spend more money but now I have no choice.

so how do you go back to the old interface?
