I have cameras on the property that will catch if light shifts, tree branches move, a cat walks across the driveway but it didnt catch a person tagging my garage. Extremely disappointed

Hi @Whatintha

Where is the camera located from the garage? Do you have a screenshot of the camera positioning by chance?

This is the view from the camera. I'll have to get a shot of the camera itself later

@Whatintha

Thank you for the picture. I don't need one of the camera itself, thanks though. Where was the graffiti located? on the garage door?

If you would like to protect the door itself, I would suggest raising the camera in the garage doors FOV.

The cameras detect motion from side to side much better than objects moving directly towards the camera. The cameras detects motion from 5-20". I would assume the cameras low angle & area the culprit may have come in from (out of view) was the reason for the missed recording. The camera doesn't seem to be in the best position to cover the garage door.

Since you have an issue with graffiti, I would also suggest to set the record time to a fixed length of time. This way, if the person/object stops moving or moves slowly, the camera will continue to record after the initial motion is first detected.

I have attached an article here that will provide more detail on the best positioning for the camera. How do I position my Arlo wire-free camera?
