I have the VMC3030 cameras. Can I use the micro usb charging cables on the market to charge this ARLO camera? I don't want to waste my $$ if I can't. My camera has the micro connector inside the battery cover (little rubber covering). I found on etsy that someone fashioned a replacement cover in order to use a usb hook up and still be able to close the cover. All the cables I see are for the usb hookup outside the battery cover.

No... the existing usb port on the Arlo HD cameras that you have will NOT charge thru that port.

Also, tho some have done it, it is border line as to working and / or ruining the camera. The port was designed I believe as a flash access to the fw and not design to take the power load required to run the camera.

Do so if you want but at the same time be warned.
