VM3030 Wireless add on to Arlo-Q question?

Ordered the vm3030 two pack and found the base station in the package. Should I use that? Or can I connect them directly to the network like the arlo-q?

Arlo cameras ( Arlo  and Arlo PRO ) only hook into the base...the base sets up it's own wifi system to talk to the cameras only.
