The Arlo camera is near useless for monitoring a corridor as motion is towards the camera.  I have the same issue with my front gate and the only way I am able to get motion detection to be effective is to mount the camera in a position that provides an almost useless side and rear view of the subject.  Arlo needs a standalone PIR module to be effective.  Your competitors have them as they recognize the issue.  Why don't you ?  I am currently trying to decide whether to continue with Arlo and buy more cameras or give up and go to a competing solution that is more effective.  Fix your product gaps.  Make it a killer product.  Or watch it lose to your competition.  And stop working on hero pet projects when you don't have the basics working.

XJW,

I do not currently have information on the possible future availability of a standalone PIR module to assist with motion detection. However, there is a topic suggesting this on the Arlo Idea Exchange. I encourage you to support this idea by adding Kudos to help drive the importance of adding this feature to Arlo.
