When I turn off a camera and then go back into the app, the camera is on again.   Why?

Is this using the arlo web login or your mobile app?

I know it is working on my iPhone app, did it this morning and just now and working ok. This was using arlo iOS v3.8.

Have you upgraded to the new arlo app, don’t know what you would call it, feed version?

The new app (currently 4.0.2) supports both "Feed" and "Library".  If you see "Library" at the bottom of the main device page, then you are using the old "Library" experience. If you see "Feed" there instead, then you are using the new "Feed" experience.

FWIW, it is possible to migrate from "Library" to "Feed", but you cannot migrate back.

@Truth2121 , it would be useful to know which experience you are using.

How long do you wait before going back into the app after turning off the camera?

I have no idea what would cause what your describing although I had previously seen this with the web login interface for the last several months.

After you go back into the app and the camera says it is still turned on can you still live stream the camera or do you get a privacy error message?

FWIW, I am not seeing this with my own cameras (on an iPhone 12 mini). Though I don't normally turn my cameras off.

Just to clarify - you are going into the device settings for the camera, and turning it off there?  (as opposed to disarming the camera using the modes).

Yes I go in and turn them off sometimes from my app.  Someone mentioned to wait a little bit before I exit out of the app and that has worked some.

I am getting the cams hardwired eventually but I turn them off since they die so fast.
