I set a custom schedule for 10pm to 6am arm devices. I would expect to only receive notifications of movements on those devices during those times. Instead, at 10pm I receive YOUR CAMERAS ARE ON and then at 6am YOUR CAMERAS ARE OFF. Then at 10pm YOUR CAMERAS ARE ON. Then at 6am YOUR CAMERAS ARE OFF. (You know, just like you wanted). Please disable this unnecessary alert that keeps us from focusing on actual important alerts.

The complaint is understood and the solution is part of a larger grouping of changes that will be coming in a future update. I don't have an estimation at this time for when those changes will be available, but more control over push notifications in general will be part of that update.

We do  have this in as a feature request. And the team is currently looking into it. Once there is an update I will let the community know.

This is not just a minor inconvenience; it's a critical disruption of the user experience. Receiving forced push notifications for every scheduled mode change is essentially system-generated spam. These unwanted alerts clutter our feeds and, more importantly, lead to notification fatigue—causing users to potentially ignore real security threats.

This must be treated as a high-priority fix, not a long-term feature request. We need the option to disable these spam-like mode change alerts immediately.

I absolutely agree. If the annoying Mode Change Notification will not be changed, I will consider to quit Arlo and change to another camera system.

How can I prevent notifications when the mode changes, with the new app experience?

I don’t want phone notifications when a schedule changes mode. It used to be silent.

Arlo knows better.

There's another thread that has been on for a while requesting this feature to be switched off.

And yet, they don't listen.

Just got the new app. I didn't realize how lucky I was to have the old one until now. These mode change notifications are driving the famliy mad!

Only answer is to mute arlo or uninstall it. My replacement cameras have arrived. Now have to test those and set up then remove arlo subscription.

@BrookeN Thanks, I'm super happy with Arlo otherwise.

Since I upgraded to the new app in May 2026 I’m no longer able to turn off the notifications that come every time I leave and enter the geofence area.

Any ideas where this setting is in the new app? I’ve been searching for hours!

Cheers

These are mode change nofifications, correct?

If so, there is no way to turn them off.  Many have complained on this,  hopefully Arlo will address it.

Yes they are. When I enter and leave the geofence.

let’s hope so as it was absolutely possible to turn them off on the previous version of the app.

appreciate the reply!

Ever since the New Arlo App upgrade, why do we get that annoying message when I change the system mode from Arm Home to Arm Away (or vice versa), the app sends a push notification to EVERYONE!! That has the app in my home, with the same sound and appearance as a normal system alert. But I know I’ve changed modes—I just did it myself in the app. Why do I need to be notified of something I just did? And why does everyone in the house need to know I changed system modes highly annoying, I have been complaining about this for months but nothing has been done about it. I saw an Arlo commercial about the new cameras and App, what a joke. This needs to be fixed!

After the latest app update, I receive push notifications every time the Arlo mode changes (Arm Home, Arm Away, Standby, etc.).

I want to keep motion detection notifications, but I do not want notifications for mode changes.

There is currently no separate setting to disable only these notifications. Please add an option to turn off mode-change notifications while keeping camera motion alerts enabled.

This change has made the app much more disruptive to use, as I have a schedule for mode changes e.g. in the middle of the night, when I only want notifications for motion detected.

It has now been more than four weeks since moderator @BrookeN  posted on here that "the team is currently looking into it. Once there is an update I will let the community know." and "This is still currently being looked into. I will update the community when there is any updates. ", and not a word since.

As paying customers, we continue to be completely ignored by Arlo while our phones are flooded with system-generated spam every single day.

This automatic, unannounced software update broke a fundamental part of the user experience. Forcing push notifications for every scheduled mode change does not enhance security—it actively destroys it by causing notification fatigue.

The response from the moderator stating that this is being treated as a "feature request" is, frankly, disrespectful. Restoring a basic, essential function that Arlo actively removed is a critical bug fix, not a feature request.

We are paying for a premium security service, yet we are being treated with a total lack of respect and customer care. How much longer must your paying customers wait for a simple toggle switch to disable these disruptive alerts? We need a concrete update from the development team immediately.

In the meantime, I encourage all fellow frustrated users to share their honest experiences with Arlo on platforms like Trustpilot, so potential new customers know exactly how paying members are treated.

Just wanted to say that I strongly agree with everyone here expressing frustration with this unwanted (and frankly baffling) change to the Arlo notification system. I have been a loyal Arlo user for 10+ years and I am considering changing my camera system because of this-- yes, it's THAT annoying. Please stop "looking into" the problem and fix this as soon as possible.

I also want to express my deep frustration and anger toward Arlo again. Because of the annoying and completely unnecessary notifications for status changes, I can no longer use my cameras the way I used to. Normally, I automatically switch from outdoor-only monitoring to outdoor and indoor monitoring late at night and back again early in the morning. This is no longer possible, because I don’t want to be woken up by these status notifications and, in any case, I only want to receive notifications when a stranger is on my property. I will also use this experience as an opportunity to seriously consider switching from Arlo to a different camera system. My cameras are already quite old; decent replacement batteries are no longer available (which is also a scandal), and the Arlo subscription is too expensive anyway. SO FIX IT NOW!

@BrookeN

Thank you for acknowledging the issue, but classifying a major system disruption as a "feature request" for a "future update" shows a complete lack of understanding of how critical this is for your paying customers.

This is not a request for a new, shiny feature. This is a demand to fix a broken user experience caused by your recent automatic update. By forcing push notifications for every single scheduled mode change - without a toggle switch to disable them - Arlo has rendered the camera system completely useless during the night for many of us. We are being woken up by system spam just because our cameras are doing what they are scheduled to do.

"In a future update" with no estimated time frame is completely unacceptable for a premium security service. This requires an immediate hotfix, not a slot in a larger, distant update package. Adding a simple toggle switch to disable mode-change alerts is basic software development, yet Arlo is choosing to let its customers suffer from notification fatigue in the meantime.

If Arlo cannot provide a specific timeline for this hotfix, you are actively forcing your loyal, long-term users to look for alternative camera systems. We expect a concrete update from the development team now.

Thank you for your response, but that is far from sufficient. This issue must be resolved immediately and cannot be postponed until a “future update.” Clearly, Arlo has failed to realize that this problem renders their cameras and services partially unusable and poses a real security threat to their customers. So act now not tomorrow!
