I have a Smart Hub, it has a Sync button ...

 

What does it do?  (Yes, I assume it syncs ... something to something for something.)

 

Based on the manual I received and searching online ... there's no explanation.

 

Most instructions entail using a sync button on a camera or accessory.

 

I'm hoping that maybe this is a key piece of missing info that relates to poorly documented Homekit integration.

It's used for manually syncing cameras to the hub. It's generally not needed except when the usual process fails for some reason.
