One of my Pro 2 cameras will not charge anymore. If I buy new camera model, compatible with mine?

I have two arlo pro 2 cameras and the base station. I bought them refurbished on Amazon a couple years ago. One of my cameras just will not charge anymore. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting and it just won’t charge (and of course I can’t find an actual person to talk to). Initially I was just going to buy another arlo pro 2 but after looking I see they have many newer models out. We’ve had some recent burglaries in my community, so i am thinking about “beefing up” my system anyway.

If I buy a newer camera model, is it compatible with the same arlo base station I have? Or do I have to buy a whole new package? I don’t want to do away with the base station and my other arlo pro 2 camera, as they are working just fine. I really am lost on all this home camera/security stuff and I just want an actual person to talk to. Any input tips or advice are so appreciated! Thanks

That depends on what base you have.  There is more information here:  https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/What-is-the-difference-between-each-Arlo-SmartHub-and-base-station

Several of the newer cameras (Pro 4, Pro 3 Floodlight, and Essential cameras) can connect directly to your your home wifi, so that is another possibility.

All of the new cameras will require a paid subscription for cloud storage.

    Some options are:

    • Essential:  A budget 1080p camera similar in specs to your Pro 2.  But it is fully sealed (the battery is not replaceable).  This is reasonable if you simply want to add more cameras.
    • Pro 3 Floodlight:  a 2K (higher resolution) camera with a built-in floodlight (much larger than the spotlights on the older cameras).
    • Pro 4:  A 2K camera (with the spotlight, not the floodlight).
