I have arlo wireless , set up on corners of house 3 out 4 of them black at nite with light bouncing off house ..shouldn't they be in grey scale

Yes. It could be the IR illuminators of turning on or something about the camera isn't right. Ensure your firmware versions are up to date, comparing them to what's posted in the Release Notes section here.

You may want to try power cycling the base as well as removing the cameras from Settings, My Devices and resync them.
