This newly upgraded app is horrible. Why did you over complicate scheduling a simple on and off. Please cancel my subscription.

Ok, finally got to the bottom of this issue where cams wouldn’t auto change modes. I called Arlo and they took me to the solution. Apparently when I upgraded to the new release, it tried to bring over the schedule from the old release. It didn’t configured properly which cause home and standby modes to fail to engage. The tech had me wipe out all schedules and start from scratch. The cams then turned on in the PM and auto off in the morning.
Kudos to Arlo for having live support that called me and helped resolve this issue. And thanks to moderators for trying to help me. Lesson learned: if modes don’t kick in automatically, delete all schedules and redefine everything.

Ok, I calmed down now. But the app still isn’t workable. The functionality could not have passed user acceptance testing. Please, go back to the design phase and fix this. Few understand how Routines, Schedules and Rules tie to one another. The terminology used (arm home, arm away, standby) doesn’t resonate with your normal users. How about Start, Stop Time? I can’t even get my cams to turn on and off at appointed times. You need to organize an emergency technical scrum and get this fixed…fast. Otherwise, you likely will lose your hard fought market share. I urge you to return to your core competency centered on simplicity.

Yes.
my scenario is fairly simple.
I have 4 cams I’d like to turn on at 9:00 pm and off at 6:00 am.
I have the standby set up for 6 am but the cams continue to sense motion.
is standby there to help turn off recording?

Have you confirmed that the system is standby mode after 6 am (but before 9 pm)?
Can you post screenshots of your schedule automations?

trying to sign in on windows platform. Said user creds are wrong. Changed my password. Still didn’t allow me to sign in. I don’t think I can paste screen shots using my iPhone. Is there an email address I can send my screen shots to?

You can.
Instructions are here:
Then you can email it yourself (or text it, etc).

What browser are you using? Are you sure you are using the correct username and password?
You will need to go through the two-factor authentication after you enter the credentials.

Windows 10. The creds are correct. I didn’t receive 2 factor notice. My iPhone authenticates fine.

Just to be clear - this is happening with https://my.arlo.com ???
Anyway, you can take the screenshots on your iphone, and make them available to your windows PC as I posted above.

Let’s try this so we don’t burn each other out. Can you just give me step-by-step instructions on how to set up to turn on four cameras at a certain time and then turn them off at a certain time in the morning. This concept can’t be that difficult.

It's much easier for me for correct your automations than it is for me to type in a full tutorial.
Note this is user-to-user forum, and I do not work for Arlo.

- Set up Arm Away and Arm Home to arm all cameras.
- Make sure Standby disarms all cameras.
- Set up one schedule automation to switch to Arm Home when you want to arm the cameras
- Set up a second schedule automation to switch to Standby when you want to disarm the cameras.
Then manually switch to Arm Away when you go on a trip. The cameras remain Armed 24x7 until you manually switch back to Arm Home or Standby.
Screenshots of the two schedule automations are below:
Pay particular attention to the enable list (right underneath the automation names). You want the schedule automations to be enabled (active) in both Arm Home and Standby mode, but disabled (not active) in Arm Away.

Sorry. Just can’t grasp this or maybe the iPhone version doesn’t work. Can you recommend who at Arlo I can call for this. The terminology they’ve embedded does not make any sense. Routines, schedule and rules are bogus. Others users are saying the same thing . The lack of documentation with examples is astounding.

I noticed you didn’t specify any specific cams with your rules. Does the app assume all cams apply to the rule and therefore no cams need to be specified?

I didn't post any rules - those are in the modes.
The automations switch modes. The modes contain rules for the cameras, so they specify what cameras are armed or disarmed when you are in those modes.
Note I started by saying that you should make sure that all the cameras are armed in both Arm Away and Arm Home (rules for all the cameras), and that all cameras are disarmed in Standby (no rules for any cameras). These are the default settings for outdoor camera models, but you can modify those settings.

I use an iPhone, and scheduling does work for me.
Try using the link I gave you to take screenshots. Then email the screenshots of the two automations to yourself using the phone (they should end up in photos), and then post them here.

You can get phone support through the app.
But based on posts here, they won't be much help for this.
