New add-on camera is going thru batteries

I just bought an add-on camera to my exsisting two camera system.  I've had it for 1 1/2 days and it keeps telling me the batteries are dead after like 4 hours. The other two cameras are fine and the new camera is working fine just eating batteries. As everyone knows the batteries to these cameras are not cheap. Please help me.

if it's as bad as you say, contact Netgear for a replacement via trouble ticket

Camera has been updated. Had to hook up thru USB port on camera as I was told on the phone from support.
