Netgear Arlo's Wifi SSID seen?

Hello.

I was outside someone's home and noticed the owner's SSID, with its wifi password, shows as "NETGEAR08-arlo_88888" (changed some numbers from the real original numbers for security and privacy reasons) with an iPhone 4S. How is that possible? I never see others and mine who use Netgear Arlos too. Is this fake?

Hi Ant....

 No , tho I think you just saw the SSID of the Netgear base... I don't think you saw the password.

Many of the original bases have longer SSIDs which show Netgear and long numbers after.. Along the way the SSID was shortened to something closer to a normal router name

nNever at any time does the password show, and to be honest, if it did it wouldn't matter much as the base isn't a full router. ( got into a beta unit once and was unable to do anything )
