My battery dies within a week and the camera video recording is just a bunch of flashing

I bought a 2 camera pack and have been having a problem with one of the cameras.

I was having a problem with the battery dying within a week. I read that it could be because of the distance from the home base so I moved it at the same distance as the second camera and the first camera still dies within a week of battery. The second camera is on to record 24/7 whereas the first camera is only on to record from 12am-7am and it still dies within a week! Also sometimes when the motion is triggered, the recorded video is a bunch of flashing going from dark to infrared. maybe there is a problem with the light sensor which is screwing with the battery life? Please advise.

Remove battery from the camera and reinsert after about 10 seconds to reset the camera. If the flashing continues get the system replaced or contact support below.
