Given the recent DDoS attach by IoT leveraging Miria Malware the question is does the Arlo Camera and Basestation have vulnerablities to this form of infection and participation in a potentially damaging botnet. I'm guessing the basestation is punching a hole in my router to connect to the internet; to your specific URL but may be subject to Miria infection.
Please comment on the potential? And can you also recommended ways to eliminate or mitigate the risk? (i.e., changing the default account/password on the base station ?)

Not an official reply but this attack is malware brought in by clicking on links in emails. That doesn't mean Arlo is safe but the weak link is, as usual, the users. Are you up-to-date on both anti-virus and -malware software? Are you careful about where you browse and what you click on? Is your router up to snuff with firmware? There are ways to minimize the chance of infection barring any information of what hardware Arlo uses that could be part of the problem.
Anyone taken their hardware apart to see what's inside?

Why is there not a single response from Netgear on ANY of the security threads about DoS and botnet issues? Having a few forum participants theorize is not the same as a corporate definitive answer about any potential vulnerability and what will/can be done to ameliorate.
Netgear, what is the status of the Arlo cameras relative to the botnet issues? Thank you, many people are waiting for the answer.
