Comment not a question: minute by minute detection is driving me crazy! .... decided to turn it off!

if you mean the motion detector is setting off warning and recording all the time, did you try turning the sensitivity slider down to make it less sensitive?

... of course I did. I should have mentioned that first. I've tried everything from positioning myself away and resetting the detection to whatever else was needed, as far as the manual had indicated.

Probably a hardware problem that needs you to open a case with support.
