Hello all,

The magnet that currently comes with the All in One sensor is approximately 0.400" (10.1mm) tall.

In order to install the sensor on my windows I would need a magnet that is <=0.250" (6.0mm) tall.

I was wondering if anyone has used a different (smaller) magnet with the All in One sensor?

If so, what did you use and where did you buy it?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @hawg78

Thanks for the feedback on this. Are you trying to install the magnet vertically or horizontally? Can you provide more detail regarding the installation process? Maybe there's something we can think of to help with the install.

Hello, thanks for reaching out.

I have attached two pictures of the two different window types I have and their applications.  The sensor and magnet are held in place using masking tape for these pictures.

I have two different window types:

  1. Two-window vertical sliding replacement window.  Need Vertical sensor mount.
  2. Two-window double hung replacement window.  Need Horizontal sensor mount.

These mounting applications allow the sensor to monitor open/close access for both sides of the window if either one is moved.

You can see that where I have the magnet mounted I cannot open either window pane without interference of the magnet.

The current Arlo magnet measures 0.400" wide.  The usable area on my window frame is approximately 0.312"

I would need a magnet that is less than <=0.300" wide.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks for the pics and info, I don't want to say this "can" be resolved, but so I can have a better look at the windows/frame, are you able to provide a little bit more wider view so I can see the whole window(s)/frame?

Thank you

Here is a wider view for you.  Sorry but it's just a dark day here today...

One approach would be to use two sensors along the side of the window.  One at the bottom for the bottom window, and one at the very top for the upper one.

Though you could try a different magnet first.

This one is 5/16 inches (about the max size you list above):

The same vendor has a smaller one (3/16 inch).
