I have had my arlo wire free camera and vmb 3000 base station since 2016 and i recently lost my 7 day free cloud storage when the software changed and put me on a free trial. I declined the free trial and now I cannot set up recordings on a schedule when i am not in my office. The new software does not have this feature. How do I get back the original software so I can set up a schedule of when I want my cameras to record.

There's no going back so here's an FAQ to get you started:
https://kb.arlo.com/000062777/About-Arlo-Routines-Modes-Rules-and-Automations
Basically, go to Routines and select Automations at the top. Then use the "+" sign at the top right and choose to Add Schedule. You'll need 2 schedules unlike the old interface so create one at, say, 7:00AM to change the mode to Standby (assuming you don't want anything armed and recording) followed by another new schedule to change the mode to Armed Away at 5:00PM - change the times as appropriate. Each time a new schedule starts the old one stops so there's no stop times to be set. Be sure to check all of the modes to ensure they have rules (or not) as appropriate to your needs.

First to clarify the "new" and "original" software. Arlo began rolling out a new user interface about 2 years ago. Ever since, the app has supported both the new interface ("Feed") and the old interface ("Library"). Which interface you see depends on how Arlo has your account set up in their cloud.
Arlo is slowly moving everyone to "Feed", and they are not providing a way back.

It does, but it works a bit differently. There are some limitations that Arlo says they will address, but they might not affect you.
Can you provide details on what you were doing before?
- where all the cameras always all armed and disarmed together?
- where you using geofencing? a timed schedule? or both?

Ok, I have started setting up a schedule. I have times during the week I am at work where i want to turn off the schedule. under the schedule there are choices. Do I choose here both arm away and standby like the post said or just standby? Then at the bottom it shows how to set the time and put in standby mode. Then when i leave at night do I put at the top arm away or both arm away and standby again? Then at the bottom I assume I put in the time and arm away. Also once the arm away is set on friday, Do i have to put in a schedule for saturday and sunday or will it stay armed and recording on motion all weekend until monday morning? I am also confused with the modes. Do I need to do anything with the modes and turn of settings if I have already set all the automations?

The post says to enable the automations in Arm Home and Standby (not Arm Away).
The action in the automation is what changes the mode. The enable list defines the modes in which the automation can run. Since you want the schedule automations to be switching between Arm Home and Standby, you should have the schedule automations enabled in both those modes.

I will be using only armed away and standby in all my settings. So what you are saying is that when i come in on monday and i want to disarm the camera recordings and motion detecting the top portion of the schedule box should have both of these settings and the bottom part where it says change mode should only have standby? and when i leave at the end of the day and want to arm the cameras to record and detect motion, I again should have both of these listed at the top and at the bottom i should only have armed away under mode? Sorry, this is a little confusing. Right now I only have standby at the top and standby at the bottom in the morning and at night when i leave the schedule says armed away at the top and armed away at the bottom,

Why?
My general recommendation (also in the other post) is to use Arm Home and Standby for scheduling, and reserve Arm Away for when you go on a trip and want to keep the cameras enabled 24x7.
Otherwise you need to disable the schedule automations.

Yes.

The top list indicates the modes in which the automation is enabled.
So if the top list just says "Standby", then the automation will only run when the system is already in Standby mode. Which is pointless, since the automation is intended to switch the system to Standby mode.

The reason i only want to use armed away and standby is that this is a business and it is closed on the weekends so these 2 settings make the most sense as I want to keep the cameras armed during the weekend and record any motion inside (my cameras are only used inside. I have another system for outside cameras). Armed home setting does not record any motion inside on the weekends as I interpret it. So the way i have it set with armed away and standby, this means that cameras will not record motion in standby while I am at work during the week, but will record with motion on the weekends when in armed away mode?

That is the default for Arlo Q and Essential Indoor cameras, but not any of the other cameras. And that is behavior you can change by modifying the rules in the mode. (All the modes can be modified).

Yes. Assuming that is the schedule you set up.
And if the business is closed for a few days, the schedule continues - not recording during the day, even if you are not there. You could of course switch the system to "Arm Home" when you do that. The names aren't completely intuitive no matter how you set it up But at the end of the day, they are just names.

Ok. I get it now. I do have the original arlo essential cameras so I will test in armed home mode and if they do not record during the weekend, I will change to armed away or change the rules. Thank you for your patience and help.
