We have two Arlo Pro 4 cameras. According to Arlo's knowledge base article (KB 000062894), an Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station is required for Continuous Video Recording (CVR). The Arlo chatbot also states that the SmartHub or Base Station is needed because it provides a separate secure network that allows the cameras to communicate on a dedicated frequency.

We will be implementing our own separate secure network through our Cisco router. Therefore, I do not understand why an Arlo SmartHub would be required in our setup.

Can you please confirm whether CVR can be used with Arlo Pro 4 cameras connected directly to Wi-Fi, without an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station?

24/7 Recording & Continuous Video Recording

24/7 Recording or Continuous Video Recording (CVR) are optional features available on certain cameras. With 24/7 Recording or CVR activated on one of your cameras, you can record all the action 24/7. 24/7 Recording or CVR captures everything in the background, and you can rewind to catch anything you missed. A compatible Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station is required to use 24/7 Recording or CVR for some Arlo cameras.
