I spent hours reading all threads about the Arlo cameras. I bought this camera because of its small size and because it was wire free.  It soon appeared to me that it would be costly to purchase replacement batteries for those cameras.

I continued my research to identify the best rechargeable batteries and the best charger. While i found suitable answers to my questions, several people have asked for ways and means to connect their cameras to electricity.  No one provided a good answer for those individuals wanting to connect their cameras to an electrical power source.  Could someone please shed some light on why neither Arlo nor specialists using this site, never mentioned the micro usb connection available with the Arlo cameras.  That simple connection powers cameras without the use of batteries.

While most of us liked the idea of wirefree cameras.  Nothing precludes us from reorganizing ourselves and using electrical power where possible.

That was explored in the past.... and found out that 1) it was not reliable, 2) the usb port was design for the flash of memory and if use can exeed the current rating of said port... you may fry the camera... Use at your own risk.

There also have been those that powered the cameras on the site and included pictures, but it is not for the average user to do and all warranties are void if so.

if you want a mains powered cam, why not buy a mains powered cam?  There's zillions on the market including from netgear.
