How do I get further motion detection range?

My camera will only notify me of detection when I am walking about 10ft. in front of it. How do  I get the motion detection farther? How far should this camera be able to detect motion?

The Arlo cameras max out for people to about 20ft and that's it...

Angle , placement and cross flow of motion can improve response.

The is also a sense level adustment in the MODE ( you have to edit it, raise it a small amount at a time )
