with the geofencing what happens if one of the devices battery dies and is left in the geo area.

would this mean the cameras would not arm or disable?

The app and gps need to be running if geozone is to work... an educated guess would be it would continue to work with the good phone , tho a reboot of the base may be required

i guess my question is: if im out with my mobile and  my wife is home.  her phone has died without her knowing and she then goes out what happens?

or on our return

I'm guessing if would be the same as if TURNED off... nothing, it may not arm.

Test it by turning off the phone when home and doing exactly the scenario you described

BOC,

In this scenario, the device with the dead battery would appear unavailable resulting in the "Away" mode engaging (providing another device is not located at "Home").
