Amongst the ongoinng issues with motion detection, recording, and battery life about which very little effort seems to have been made to rectify, other issues as our systems age are becoming increasingly onerous.

First off, for both the Arlo basic and the Pro that we own, even with the shroud covers, dirt is slowiy finding its way inside the battery compartments which necessitates unacceptable measures to clean out. There are already parts of the battery compartments that can't be reached and successfully cleaned even using the most esoteric improvised implements.

Secondly, all of our original Arlo screw mounts and most of the third part screw mounts are slowly breaking down due to rust. Additionally, among the different brands of screw mounts, Arlo originals are among the worst to try to tighten to keep the cames properly focues. The knurl wheels used to help tighten the camera to the screw mount are nearly impossible to tighten sufficently to hold the camera at a proscribed angle.

Finally, the Arlo Pro batteries are a complete waste of money. Only after a handful of recharges the battery life drops from a few months to barely a month even with just a few recordings each period.

When you combine the well documented issues of motion detection, poor recordings, and inconsistent picture quality, it is no wonder so many folks are abandoning Arlo for Blink and Eufy.
