Garage sale camera Model: VMC3030

I bought two Model: VMC3030 cameras from a guy on Craig's List.  He said he bought them at a moving sale.  I can't add them to my system.  Arlo says it's because they are still "associated with the previous owner's account."  I asked what I can do to fix it, and was told to have the previous owner delete the cameras from their system.  I can't do that!  I don't have a clue who that person is.  Arlo says they can't remove the cameras from the previous owner's account due to "privacy issues."  Any idea how to get around all this?
