I was away from home for a month, and early on my Arlo keypad disconnected from the Wi-Fi, leaving me with no security coverage. This had happened before, but usually the keypad would reconnect on its own after a few minutes. Not this time.

Neither Arlo support nor my internet provider were able to help when I called - both telling me I had to be physically present at home to fix the problem.

My modem/gateway broadcasts three different Wi-Fi bands: 2.4 GHz, 5.0 GHz, and 6.0 GHz and are separately named WiFi networks.  Arlo devices require the 2.4 GHz band.

I remotely rebooted my modem twice.  First, I set it so all three bands were combined under one Wi-Fi name, since devices will supposedly connect to the correct band. However, that doesn’t always work, as evidenced by my Arlo keypad.  Next, I rebooted the modem again, this time re-splitting the three bands into separate networks with their different names. That seemed to solve the problem—my Arlo keypad reconnected, and the security system is now working again (at least for now).

Neither Arlo nor Xfinity suggested this fix.  In the end, I had to figure it out on my own through trial and error.
