Guys I’m loosing my mind! I am a security engineer and fit assorts of camera systems. I got this Arlo kit for someone who is moving in 12 months so wanted something temporary.

Oh my is this terrible so far, I have the SmartHub and 3x Ultra Cameras, it’s unusable, connected the hub then added it to the app, tries to update firmware and says it can’t, hit continue anyway, go to add Ultra camera and it finds the hub and then searches for firmware again, it’s a loop and I can’t complete the job?! Cameras cannot be added as it’s trying to constantly update hub firmware an it won’t cause it just times out and says it can’t?!

What is this, anyone had this?

I haven't heard of this happening on the SmartHubs but have with the older base stations. What, specifically, is the hub model (look on the bottom for a label with VMBxxxx)? I assume it's a VMB5000 since that's what normally comes with Ultras if purchased as a kit.

For the bases, the issue seems to be old firmware not being compatible with current software and can't be updated. You can try resetting the hub by removing it from the account, hold the reset button for >15 seconds until the LED flashes amber and let it reboot (~2 minutes). Add it back into the account to see what happens.

Alternatively, the fastest thing to do is to swap the system at the store for a faulty hub.
