Hello Arlo Team and Community,
I am using Arlo App v6.29.0 on Android and am having a major visibility issue with the camera status icons (battery, Wi-Fi connection, sound, and motion) on the main Dashboard.
Right now, these icons are rendered in a fixed white color. When a camera's thumbnail preview contains a light background—such as a white wall, a bright sky, snow, or direct sunlight—the white icons completely wash out and become entirely invisible.
To fix this, please consider implementing one of the following standard UI design solutions:
1. Drop Shadows: Add a subtle, semi-transparent dark drop shadow behind the white text and icon layers.
2. Contrasting Outlines: Give the white icons a thin black border or stroke outline so they remain visible against any background color.
3. Dynamic Bounding Boxes: Place a semi-transparent dark rectangle/pill shape behind the icon cluster.
This small visual update would drastically improve accessibility and the overall user experience for anyone with outdoor or brightly lit indoor cameras.
Thank you for your time and for considering this improvement!

The issue if legibility/visibility was mentioned by me some time ago, though I can't remember if on here or directly with the Arlo Care Team. I'm not sure what was wrong with the status bar in the old app, where the status icons were separate from the viewing tile. I too have had legibility/visibility  issues, especially when against grey backgrounds, and especially when the night vision is on. I did have a glimpse of an updated version of the user interface, where these icons had a transparent grey strip, improving legibility/visibility to an extent, but that version is no longer available for me. Let's hope this area remains on their agenda.
