Easy to view local storage

Is it safe to say that if you want easy to use local storage viewable from an app that Arlo is not it? Sorry I am just not interested in an expensive monthly subscription. I am wanting to upgrade my Pro2 cameras but just don't think the Arlo is the way to go. I have recently purchased the Essentials Door bell but now that the trial is over it's about worthless. The lorex system seems to meet my needs.
