Just set up a new Arlo wireless system, no problems, and quite simple. I checked the cameras through the android app and everything was fine. Then after a few hours the base station was not connected to Internet, lights on the base station were Amber. I had the mode to "all motion off". Can this put the system to sleep ? I managed to turn it back on via the app and switch modes to motion on. I want to understand the behaviour of the base station and if the modes can impact connectivity. Thanks.

No, the BASE does not got to sleep mode ( omly the arlo cameras do )....

The Arlo base should be all three leds green for 24/7.

Maybe router or service problem ?

You just brought a new Arlo wireless system- Read the forum on recording delay and keep your receipt. There are alot of problem with the so call Netgear security cameras.

I suspect the router may de-allocate the IP address of the base station periodically for dynamic connected devices. I have a "billion" router. Does statically assigning an IP address improve stability ?

giuliocc,

An amber internet LED on the base station indicates the base station is still connected to the router but does not have an internet connection. Were you able to verify that your internet connection was still working at the time the base station showed the amber LED?
