Disable sequential notifications

Is there a way to select that a push or email notification ONLY HAPPENS ONCE for the first instance of my camera recording a new event?  I have these cameras pointed at my house.  With kids and a dog my mailbox gets filled up with 20 emails everytime someone goes out to throw the ball for the dog, or plays on the driveway.

If there is not such a setting, how do people cope with this, other than to turn off notifications and kind of defeat the purpose of the cameras.
