Please help I have the cameras set up through an extender as I only have a wifi hotspot device so I had to purchase a netgear extender which as I understand it just extends my wifi signal. I cannot use any other device now that requires wifi until I disconnect the router. Am I missing something ? or really don't understand the tech?

The Arlo system base requires an ethernet port to hook into the internet... so the extender provides the port.

It doesn't mean you can't use the wifi from the hotspot as you normally would with other devices.
