Background Info:

I already have two Arlo Q cameras connected to my wireless modem/router. They work correctly and show up in the "Cameras" section of my Arlo web account and on my Android Arlo App.

I am trying to connect two additional Arlo Wire-Free Cameras to this wifi network. I followed the instructions, but they won't connect.

Here are the intallation steps I'm following:

1. My Arlo Wire-Free Cameras have battery power. They are newly purchased and do not belong to an existing network.

2. On the Arlo App or Web: Under Cameras, select "Add Device"

3. Select "Arlo"

4. Base Station: "Select the device that your existing cameras are connected to:".

The new Arlo Wire-Free Cameras came with a Base Station, but since my existing Arlo Q Cameras are already connected to my wifi router, I selct "Wifi Router".

5. I follow these instructions, and the LED lights blink as instructed, but the cameras don't connect:

Sync Cameras

When I click continue, I'm taken back to the Cameras Tab, and the new cameras are not synced. Why isn't this working? I also followed the insturctions for installing my Base Station. Neither my Arlo Wire-Free Cameras nor my new Base Station are showing up on my network.

Unless you have a Netgear R7000 router with appropriate firmware, you MUST use the base for the wireless cameras. Add the base first using the Add Device button as you've been doing and then sync the cameras. Once this is done you'll see both the base and cameras in your display.

I synced a 5th camera to our Netgear R7000 router. The light blinks blue, but the camera doesn't show up when we log into the computer or our phones. I clicked "Add Device" on the phone and the computer, re-synced it, but still no camera shows up. The cameras and router are all new. All the other cameras work fine.

Try restarting the router and opening and closing the battery door. What firmware are you using on the router?

I've actually transferred my one camera that was on the router to a base station since the old camera firmware needed to utilize the firmware embedded in the router is very old at this point, going through batteries faster than the newer firmware. I've given up on the R7k ever getting production firmware that includes Arlo since a moderator in the router forums has stated that Arlo support is being dropped.

I restarted the router, opened and closed the battery door, but it still doesn't show up. I have a Mac OS X 10.9.3 and an iPhone 6s. We just bought the Arlo system about 3-4 weeks ago. We bought the 5th camera 2 weeks ago, but I just tried to set it up today. We bought the router the same time as the Arlo system. So, everything is new.

You didn't say what router firmware you're running.  Open the router interface page and check the upper right corner.  I'm running 1.0.6.54 but will be updating to 1.0.7.2 which has no Arlo capability.  I'd recommend you find a base station (you may need to buy a one camera system to get it) since otherwise you'll have old firmware on both the router and Arlo side.

Edit:  You may need to remove all devices from Settings, My Devices, including the router, and add them back in again using the Add Device button on the Cameras tab to regain control.
