Can I use a usb cable with my Arlo VMS 3230 camera as they are draining the batteries or can anyone suggest how to save battery life.

No, the original Arlo HD camera takes 4 cells and there is no option for USB power.

As to draining of batteries;

It comes to a matter of a couple things.

1) usage... live viewing or recording is spec at about 5 mins per day. Heavy usage will not  allow a long life of batteries.

The Arlo cameras I use run almost 4 months on OEM cells and 2 months on the rechargeables.

There is the opton for rechargeables that are supported by Netgear

2) signal strength... if the camera have a low signal to them or interference, they may use more power than needed
