Cameras at risk for hackers?

I have heard that hackers can use the manufacture default camera user names and passwords to hack the video feed.  Is there a way to disable these types of default settings?

These cameras ONLY connect to the ARLO base ( when you sync them ),they will not link to other wifi units.

In order to hack the Base you would have to defeat the high level wpa2-psk password 

( which is unknown even to u )
