Camera says batteries dead. Tried putting new ones but still shows dead. Camera is 2-3 years old.

I am having an issue where the app says the batteries are dead. Put in new ones, still says dead batteries. Tried removing and adding the camera back. This does nothing. Batteries came out of a new pack. Cameras are only 2-3 years old. Had an issue Last time batteries needed changed. Also noticed replacement batteries went dead VERY fast (within a month where originals lasted several months).

Stupid question and the only reason I ask is because this just happened to me. I had polarities on batteries mixed up. Felt stupid after I realized it and a little cussing Energizer. Lol. Hope it's something as simple as that.
