Areas I want to monitor around my house are skinny passages between the fence and the house. The only location I can place the cameras are looking down the passage. According to docs that is not the right place to put the camera. After some tests, with sensitivity set to 100%, I get motion detection but to late. The 25 second video shows the top of the person's head as they exit the camera view. So the device detects movement, but way late. Am I out of luck? Is there a better solution? Or do I need a camera that is alwasy on (i.e. Nestcam).

as I just replied in another thread:

A battery operated cam takes a sec or two to come out of standby and start recording.

As has been mentioned in other threads setting a cam to detect motioin earlier and creating a rule to start recording the cam where the action is helps compensate for some.

example, cam A watches the door, cam B is earlier down the walk.

Tou create a rule that, when cam B detects motion, it starts both cam A and cam B recording.
