Don't know if this has ever been asked:

I have eight cameras of which five are HW version 7 and three which is version 11. What's strange to me is that I bought three full sets from Costco and then two other cameras off eBay.

Each of the three sets I got from Costco had one V7 and one V11 camera. Why? This would suggest that V7 and V11 cameras are functionally interchangable, but then what's the purpose of the different versions? In my work with computers, HW and FW versions usually are for upgrades or fixes. Would that be the case here and if so what happened with each version.

Secondly, can anyone tell me (1) what the highest version is, and (2) is there a table that shows what each version update did?

I only ask because in an effort to troubleshoot strange issues with my cameras while not a terrible problem yet, seem to be mounting.

Thanks.

MikeBravo,

A version 7 unit is functionally identical to a version 11 unit. These numbers indicate minor hardware revisions and will not reflect any performance change from one device to another.

Where can I see a list of the model numbers.  I would like to be sure that I am buying the most recent and up-to-date camera.

The answer about the cameras being identical and work the same does not help me.  If there were hardware updates-- even minor-- they must have been made for a reason.

Can someone tell me where there is a list of models and their releases please?

Cheers,

Amy

Amy,

I agree, however, JamesC did not offer any resource and in thinking about it, you probably couldn't cross reference any serial numbers found on the box the units come with the latest hardware version and won't know the camera hardware version until you actually purchase and install them, so its basically a moot point.
