Netgear has changed how Arlo works and did so after I purchased a 5 camera system. My base and cameras all updated the firmware just fine up until this last October when they decided to up the "upload" requirement. I have DSL and am rural, I have no choice and my upload caps at 750k. The support folks have lied to me about this - they first said it requires a 1.5mb upload (it worked before, if it requires this how did it work) then she changed what she said to 1.0mb.

So make sure you have sufficient bandwidth, even if you own one currently. Right now there are THOUSANDS of their customers who have basically been told Netgear thanks them for their purchase but tough doodoo, you're out whatever money you out into this.
